For our first convention on the eastern side of the US the fans did not disappoint!
We met a lot of passionate Swan Princess enthusiasts. Some fans cried when they saw Princess Odette. Other’s greeted us with the familiar phrase “this was my childhood” and proceeded to talk about rewinding the VHS tape over and over.
The stories about the childhood memories that include The Swan Princess are so fun to hear. People reminisce about friends and family members they don’t get to spend time with anymore. In some cases, the people they watched The Swan Princess with as a child are there with them at the convention. It’s always funny to hear a man say that their sister forced them to watch it and now they are nostalgic about it and even remember the songs.
We also have fans sing to us. Two vocally talented fans serenaded those at the booth with Far Longer Than Forever at this show.
Everyone we talked with was excited to meet Producer, Seldon O Young, who signed memorabilia for fans.
Our hottest selling item at this convention was the DVD of the original film which Seldon signed for those who bought it.
The journal was also a big hit, especially to those who could use to learn from the mistakes of Prince Derek.
We had a couple people walk away with our giant turtle plush toy. Adorable!
Orange County Convention center is huge!
There were blistered feet already happening on the day of set up. But ignoring foot pain is just part of conventions as demonstrated by some of the most dedicated cosplayers.
It is not humanly possible to walk like Jessica Rabbit, that girl must be built with vertical feet. These two bold ladies pulled it off beautifully!

Princess Odette and the photo booth were a ton of fun! And, of course, the kids (and dogs) loved spending time with the princess!
The photo booth allows us to capture children who have practiced and perfected their character poses.
How beautiful are these non-Disney princesses together?!?
Speaking of dedication:
This book author not only went the whole convention unable to talk but she pushed her animal friend with her everywhere.
These Spirited Away characters had such enthralling costumes that they were barely able to move through the convention. They were surrounded by people asking for photos.
Take a look at some of our photo booth fun!
And one final word... Bears, Beets and Battlestar Gallactica!
