We’ve made a change to the Gator Escape leaderboard

The leaderboard originally reset to zero every week on Sunday. Now everyone's score is carried forward and cut in half. This means that your play-time this week is always more important than previous weeks, but if you won the leaderboard this week you'll still be at the top at the beginning of next week!

Q: Many have asked the question, what time period does the original Swan Princess movie take place in?

A: We asked the scriptwriter for The Swan Princess series, Brian Nissen, and his response was that he never thought of a specific time in history but more generally the medieval period. The middle ages happened between the 5th-15th century. Medieval history was a time of sorcery and dark magic; a history that offers a magical potion of stories and practices. The original Swan Princess was set in the middle ages but is a timeless classic. Therefore, Brian and Rick were diligent in sticking with a classic comic tone, so the film does feel dated. 

Odette’s Diary Entry: Princess School

Dear Diary,

Goodness, what a whirlwind this last month has been. We have only just adopted Alise three months ago and after all of that mess with the scullions and the Forbidden Arts, we’re starting to finally settle down into a proper normal life. That being said, we weren’t prepared for some of the choices we would have to make when summer ended. Namely, what her education was going to be like from here on out. 

Alise told us she was homeschooled by her previous father, so she was literate and new basic math but that was about it. Uberta wanted to send her out to ‘Princess School’, a type of all-girls boarding school she went to back when she was a ‘PuffPuff Girl’, whatever that is. All the Princesses of the country would be there to learn etiquette, history, diplomacy, and other general knowledge that a future ruler would need to know. It sounded almost too good to be true and a nice choice for Alise, even to possibly make some more friends, but there was only one problem. Alise didn’t want to leave. She had only just started getting used to living with us, and she didn’t want to be on her own, even if it did mean making new friends. Honestly, it was hard for us as well to want to send her away as well. It was much too soon. Maybe when she’s a teenager and we’d been with her for a long while but not like this.

Rogers, however, thought of a wonderful idea. He would volunteer to go take some courses in the Princess School’s academia himself so he could be her personal tutor. If there’s one thing he loves, it’s enlightening the minds of children. While he’d be away to do that, Uberta in the meanwhile volunteered to do some of the other “more important” things. She was so excited about the idea, she said she would formulate some sort of “Princess Bootcamp” at some point. That’ll be fun to see, knowing how Uberta is.
