Ellie Shelton and Mascot Miracles

Ellie Shelton is a constant ball of energy as Princess Odette, in her support of terminally ill children and their families, with Mascot Miracles.

Ellie was also one of our recent Fan Features. Learn more about this infectiously kind and fun young woman!

Here are some of the details of Ellie's loving attentions as Princess Odette:

First was the Mascot Miracles Foundation Light the Night Parade. Car clubs came with lights all over their vehicles and did a parade for the kids. The Mascot Miracles Foundation serves children with life threatening illnesses, which means many of them can’t handle the heat of summer parades during the day so this was a fun way for them to still be able to celebrate. We handed out candy and glow in the dark play slime. Princess Odette rode in the parade with the Compassion Mobility vehicles. They adapt all kinds of vehicles to be wheelchair friendly. Odette rode in their “water chair” they thought it was fitting for the Swan Princess.

Next was the Utah Warriors Rugby Game with Best Seats in the House Foundation for their school supply drive for underprivileged children .

This was a fun one and a bit different. The Mascot Miracles Foundation rented out Cowabunga Bay Water Park so 1300 heroes could come swim and play in the water with the mascots. Odette the SwanMaid or MerSwan, we couldn’t decide which we liked best, made her debut and was a huge hit!
We never thought we would be designing a bird fish but we were proud of how it turned out!

Dream Night at the Hogle Zoo with the Mascot Miracles Foundation is always an incredible event. We were stationed at the Africa pavilion helping the kids feed the elephants. It was AWESOME!!! Christie the elephant is part of a study at the Huntsman Cancer Institute called the Elephant Project. Elephants are one of the only mammals who don’t get cancer. They’re studying elephant DNA to see if that immunity can be translated into a new cancer treatment. Christie’s favorite foods are carrots, cucumber, sweet potato, and popcorn!

And if you look close at the pictures Odette is rocking her 25th anniversary watch because ballgowns don’t have pockets for cell phones, and it matches her dress perfectly! She is also wearing her locket from Prince Derek!

Princess Odette was at an Princess makeover event held at the Kendra Scott store in the City Creek mall in Salt Lake City, Utah with The Best Seats in the House for Terminally Ill and Underprivileged Children. I helped run the makeup station. There were manicures, pictures, cookies, and each child got to make their own piece of jewelry!

Princess Odette's first in person masks-optional event for Mascot Miracles Foundation since Covid hit! It was Mascots night at the Real Monarchs soccer game and there was a great turn out with lots of families there. The kids and mascots got to play a mini exhibition match at half time.

The Mascot Miracles Foundation Bringing the Light Gala, May 1, 2021, was a huge success.

This is Mascot Miracles largest annual fundraiser where they rolled out the read carpet and had a silent digital auction.

The Beats Seats in the House Christmas party benefitting refugee families and underprivileged children was a heartfelt event.

Ellie and Mascot Miracles was at the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium again this year. This time filming for a digital Christmas event coming 12/18/20. It was a lot of fun.

Princess Odette was able to make a drive-by birthday visit to give gifts to one of the Mascot Miracle kids that she spends her life bringing cheer to.

Mascot Miracles put on a socially distanced reverse trunk-or-treat for the families they support. There were some amazing costumes!

We drove around the parking lot where families had parked and set out bags and baskets for Halloween goodies.

Every little princess received a Swan Princess make-up kit from Princess Odette and she had special treats for all the princes too.

It was an amazing day!

Since the quarantine started in early 2020, Princess Odette has been spending time with fans through streaming. She does a live-stream every Friday!

Her fun activities, story time, singing and crafts can be viewed below:

The Mascot Miracles families have really missed seeing all their friends! Everyone got together for a social distancing parade so all the mascots and Princess Odette could wave and blow kisses to friends.

Swan Princess Producer, Seldon O Young, was able to join in his Swan Princess chariot!

Princess Odette visited Scales and Tails to learn about animals

Princess Odette had a photo shoot and made some video messages for those in quarantine due to COVID-19

Odette joined with many royal friends at a very sweet and humbling celebration of life.

An amazing little, special needs, girl became sick unexpectedly, and passed away within a week. In the days leading up to her passing, in the hospital, she planned her own celebration of life party, complete with cake, her favorite music and princesses to comfort her friends left behind.

Odette and her friends were honored to be there. They all added purple and blue to their dresses (the colors for rare disease day, February 29) and drew purple and blue hearts on their cheeks in honor of Emarie.

They ended the day by blowing bubbles to have them carry love and kisses up to heaven.

Odette visited little princesses at Primary Children's Hospital. One receiving cancer treatments and two in the ICU. Each princess was given a plush swan to cuddle. They watch Swan Princess clips on YouTube and sang songs together, helping these special little girls forget about the hospital for a moment.

Princess Odette said the night was "a dream come true!!" at the Tim Tebow Foundation Night to Shine Special Needs Prom.

It looks as though Odette helped make it a dream come true for many others as well!

Mascot Miracles Foundation one-on-one event, a special event where one struggling family is taken to do something fun. Odette embraced her ballet roots for this one and broke out the pointe shoes to join some very energetic little girls at Aerobatics Gym to learn circus-style acrobatics.

Mascot Miracles Foundation throws prom parties for little princesses and their family and friends. The proms are all planned around the preferences of the child so they can take many unique forms. Recently, a little girl who loves sharks chose Loveland Living Planet Aquarium for her prom party and Odette was in attendance.

The little prom queen made Odette promise to tell Speed to stay away from tiger sharks because she loves him too much to have him be eaten and turtles are tiger shark’s favorite snack.

The mascot, Bumble from the Salt Lake Bees, impressed Odette by landing on the snout of a whale.

Odette had a wonderful time welcoming kids from the Best Seats in the House nonprofit to the Ice Castles

Odette participated in a cake decorating class with a little cancer fighter and her sister. They say they want to be bakers at Odette’s Swan Lake Castle when they grow up
