Balloon Bursting Buddies

This activity is simply bursting with fun! Play as a duo with a friend or have more than one team and add a competitive challenge as you race to pop balloons as fast as you can, testing your listening skills, communication and speed!
You Will Need:
Balloons!
Something to use as a blindfold or just close your eyes!
Instructions:
1. Firstly, blow up your balloon, you can use just the one, one for each team or several balloons.
2. Randomly place the balloon on the floor (or if it safe, gently throw the balloon in the air and let it fall randomly).
3. Blindfold one person.
4. Now the other player must direct their blindfolded team mate to the balloon.
5. When the blindfolded player is near the balloon, their teammate needs to tell them to jump or step on the balloon to burst it.
You can play this with just two players for fun or can choose a more competitive challenge:
Take turns being blindfolded and see who can direct their teammate to burst the balloon the fastest.
Challenge another pair of players and see which team bursts the balloon in the shortest amount of time.
Scatter several balloons and see who can burst the most until they have all been popped!
SWANtastic Brown Sugar Chicken
If you're looking for a delicious spin on a chicken dish, this recipe is for you!
Chef Frederick recently served this dish for dinner in the castle - Odette, Derek, Alise and the rest of the friends and family are already looking forward to trying it again!
Ingredients:
• 3 lbs chicken thighs (boneless and skinless)
• 8 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 1/4 cup chicken broth
• 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
• 1/2 tsp pepper
• Parsley or cilantro, to serve.
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 425F/220C.
2. Remove the chicken from the packaging and pat it dry with kitchen roll/paper towels.
3. Combine all of the ingredients together in a sauce pan (everything except the chicken).
4. Place the pan over a medium heat and whisk the sauce ingredients until the sugar has fully dissolved.
5. Pour half of the sauce into a large casserole dish.
6. Arrange the chicken in the casserole dish in the sauce.
7. Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken.
8. Place the dish into the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes. Every 10 minutes, take a spoon and paste the chicken with sauce from the casserole dish.
9. Garnish your dish with chopped parsley or cilantro and serve.
Bromley's "Berry" Good Pie
Bromley loves trying different food, especially cakes and pastries - as we saw in the third movie in The Swan Princess series! It isn't just Bromley that enjoys it, Odette and all of her other friends and family love it too!
This "berry" good recipe is a delicious desert filled with SWANderful flavor!
Ingredients:
• 1 ½ tablespoons white sugar
• ⅓ cup milk
• 1 cup baking mix
• ½ teaspoon lemon zest
• ½ cup fat free sour cream
• 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 2 egg whites
• ½ cup white sugar
• 1 ½ cups raspberries
• 1 cup fresh blackberries
• ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Method:
1. Preheat the oven to 450F/230C.
2. Combine your baking mix with milk, 1/2 tablespoons sugar, and lemon zest until it forms a dough - this will be your crust.
3. Spray a pie dish (including the sides) lightly with a nonstick cooking spray.
4. Take some extra flour and rub it on your fingers, this will prevent the dough sticking to them. Carefully place your dough in the dish and gently press it into the bottom of the dish, as well as up the sides to form your base.
5. Sprinkle the delicious berries onto the crust, spreading them all over the base.
6. In a bowl, combine sour cream, egg whites, flour, 1/2 cup white sugar, the spices and vanilla extract. Mix well.
7. Pour the mixture over the fruit.
8. Next, cover the edges of the crust with foil.
9. Bake for 10 minutes.
10. Keeping the pie in the oven, turn the heat down to 350F/175C and bake for a further 30 minutes (or until center is set).
Serve on its own or with ice cream, cream or even more SWANderful fruit!

This month we are celebrating the birthday of His Royal Highness (in his own mind) JeanBob!

This makes JeanBob's zodiac sign a Virgo and his birthstone the blue sapphire.

Virgos are perfectionists and are easily fixated by both ideas and tasks. They systematically approach their lives with very linear thinking and an "if this, than that" way of problem solving.

Virgos are hyper aware of details and this makes them very picky about the things and people they keep around them.

Virgos are good at taking complicated jumbles of information onto clear, sometimes oversimplified concepts. They are resourceful and committed friends.

We think this sounds just like JeanBob! And his fixation on getting a kiss to turn back into a prince!

Blue sapphires are associated with royalty and are said to be good for attracting wealth and gifts. Maybe JeanBob should start wearing a sapphire to aid in his "smooching" quest!

Is your birthday in September or do you just like the color blue?
