Question: It's very rare for an animated princess to wear pants. Who decided to include Princess Odette wearing pants in A Royal Family Tale and what was the reasoning?

Answer: Director Richard Rich wanted Princeess Odette to wear pants. Odette is often involved in adventurous scenes that include chases. Rick wanted Odette to be more efficient at riding a horse and running. Odette is also a Princess that is less focused on her external beauty and doesn't always need to wear a dress.

Dear Diary,

The Harvest Festival is here again! We were wondering about what we wanted to do for costumes this year. I decided to work on the Harvest Festival project and I was sure that something would come to me! When I stood on the unfinished stage to see where the banners could be hung, the stage broke under me and I fell right to the ground, hurting my leg. Luckily it’s not broken, it’s just sprained, but it still hurts to walk on it. By the time the Harvest Festival arrived it hadn't healed all the way. I was worried that I would have to miss it this year, but Alise came up with a wonderful idea! She had me sit on a wheelchair and wrapped my legs in iridescent green fabric. With some shells being placed here and there, just like that I was a mermaid! Alise offered to push me around the festival, and I was so grateful to her ingenious idea.
